Pre-Production Plan: Who am I?

How can you creatively introduce yourself to the class in 2 minutes or less?

Purpose

For students to use technology to inform the class about themselves (likes,dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, pet-peeves, challenges and triumphs). Serves as an in depth learning style inventory at the beginning of school and builds classroom morale and community.

Key Content

Building off of summer reading, biography, autobiography or memoir. Students are reading other people's stories about how they have come to "define" or "find" themselves. This project will help students internalize and reflect on what they have read to create an introduction to their own biography.

Values

This project communicates that teachers value and embrace the diversity among students and capitalize on the talents and strengths of all students.
We all have talents to share and can learn from each other.

PURPOSE
  • This project will serve as an in depth learning style inventory for teachers as well as a community building activity for students as they transition into a new school year or class.

Learning Objectives: Students will know and be able to
  • Explore and synthesize a variety of media sources to determine their sense of self as a __ learner
  • Explore and utilize media genres to create a product to represent themselves within a diverse classroom of learners

  • W.9-10-6 Production and Distribution of Writing. Students use technology, including the internet to produce, publish and update individual or shared writing products, taking advantage of technology's capacity to link to other information and to display information flexibly and dynamically

  • RH.9-10.7 Integration of Knowledge and Ideas. Students integrate and evaluate content presented in diverse formats and media, including visually and quantitatively as well as in words.
